Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Geological Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be involved in the exploration of mineral deposits and the assessment of geological data to determine the economic viability of mining projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive geological surveys and assessments for bauxite and iron ore mining projects.
- Develop and implement geological exploration programs for both open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Analyze geological data to determine the quality and quantity of mineral deposits.
- Prepare detailed geological maps, cross-sections, and reports.
- Oversee drilling operations and manage sampling programs.
- Ensure the accurate interpretation of geological data to guide mining operations and optimize resource extraction.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop efficient mining plans and schedules.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Provide expert geological input for feasibility studies and project evaluations.
- Mentor and train junior geologists and field staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in bauxite or iron ore mining, with a focus on both open-pit and underground operations.
- In-depth knowledge of geological principles and mining practices.
- Proficiency in geological mapping, modeling software, and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote mining sites as required.
